the two teenagers who were shot on an el cerrito trail yesterday afternoon. they school. this is video of the scene yesterday from our helicopter partnership with abc 7 news. kron 4's reggie kumar spoke to a classmate who knows the students, and says they are popular on and off campus. >> reporter: albany unified school statement to parents about the shooting. after school was out for the day, three high school students were near the bart tracks in el cerrito. they were approached by two men who asked about their shoes. one of the men shot one student injuring himhe is in stable condition. a second student was shot in the face and received a flesh wound. the third student was able to escape without physical injury. please remind your student to take all possible precautions when walking to and from school.mkyle quarello is a sophomore at albany high school, he knows the two victims and says they are known around campus as "sneaker heads." he tells me they approach people wearing expensive tennis shoes and asks if they can trade sneakers. >> ic them on facebook and we have a hard subjec

el cerrito schools were locked down this afternoon while police investigated a shooting near the el cerrito bart station. police say two male juveniles were shot by two other male juveniles on a walking path near the station. the schools were later reopened and students were allowed to leave. police are still looking for the suspects. the victims' injuries are not life-threatening. >>> the "all clear" in san francisco's mission bay tonight after a suspicious box is found near ucsf, a construction worker stumbled upon it this morning and called police. roads were closed and some buildings around the campus were evacuated. the bomb squad checked it out and determined it was nothing but a box of junk. >>> aer son charges could be filed against an artist and gallery owner after an exhibit was intentionally set on fire. an exhibit made up of matches was ignited as part of the art event and went out of control. youtube video shows another part of the exhibit being set on fire, as well. damage is around $5,000. >>> coming up, a super bowl staple

overnight. the chase started in el cerrito at about 2:00 this morning. police asked for assistance from chp when they tried to stop a stolen suv. the suv was packed with eight people between the ages of 15 and 19 and the driver raced down i-0 and on to 580 before it crashed in the oakland hills in a tree. two people were ejected from the car. the man who died was from antioch and the driver fled the scene and still at large tonight. >>> two people were rescued from the bay this afternoon after a tugboat pushing a barch crashed into their sailboat and sank it. the crash happened around 3:00 just west of the golden gate bridge. two people were on the sailboat and both pulled to safety, one by the coast guard and another by the crew of a san francisco fire boat. one had to be treated for hypothermia. police are searching for two men and two women who broke into one home last week and they have strong evidence thanks to the homeowners. take a look an the surveillance video. mark rivetti told us he had installed the cameras after break in back in september. police say four people pulled into the

... ---------------------------- ---------------------------- ------------------------ i80 fatal id-take vo a santa clara man killed in a crash on highway 80 in el cerrito sunday night is identified. 47-year-old martin gutierrez died after the driver swerved left into on coming traffic and lost control of the car and crashed. gutierrez was thrown out from the car. the crash happened just before nine near the cutting boulevard off-ramp. the driver and two other passengers suffered only minor injuries. police say it is unclear if gutierrez was wearing a seat belt. firefighters make short work of a 2- alarm blaze early today at a home in mountain view. this was the scene on spring street about 10 this morning,. as smoke poured from the attic and garage where the fire is thought to have begun. fire officials reported that one occupant suffered minor injuries. escaping the home. the official cause of the fire remains under investigation although the owner tells kron 4, she thinks it was sparked by some faulty wiring. neighbors brought blankets and clothing for the family, which is now staying with relatives. >> with just one week before the super bowl,the suggestion by t
